Visa appoints Leonardo J. Collado as Head of Value Added Services (VAS) for Visa Latin America and the Caribbean

Miami, February 26, 2024– Visa Inc., (NYSE: V) world’s leader in digital payments, announced the appointment of Leonardo Collado as Head of Value Added Services for Visa Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). In this new role, he is responsible for leading all aspects of Visa’s VAS business across LAC, including articulating, and delivering Visa's VAS strategy and expanding the entire portfolio of value-added services for our clients and partners in the region.

Leonardo’s role will span several core areas: acceptance, issuing and risk & fraud management solutions. Today, Visa’s VAS encompass a multiple suite of high-performing industry-leading technologies and services including Cybersource, Visa Advanced Authorization, Visa Secure, Visa Risk Manager and Decision Manager, and Visa Consumer Authentication Service. In fiscal year 2023, globally Visa delivered more than 2,000 consulting engagements in VAS with its top 265 largest clients now using on average 22 Visa services, according to Visa data.

Leonardo joined Visa in 2011 and has more than 25 years of experience in the payments industry. In his latest role as Head of Platform and Digital Products for Visa LAC, he spearheaded the development of the commercial product strategy and sales enablement framework, focusing on network products, digital, open banking and risk and identity solutions. Previously, as the Global Network Processing lead for LAC, he was instrumental in expanding VisaNet and helped increase Visa’s processing business in the region, helping pave the way for the expansion of offerings and delivery of value-added services.

Collado has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida International University and a Master of Science in Management Information Systems and certifications on product methodologies . He is based in Visa’s regional office in Miami.
